- Applicants applying must be permanent citizens of a commonwealth country and be British-protected persons.

- A development impact statement. Provide a Development Impact statement with four different parts. The first part will explain the national, local or global development issues and relate them to your CSC theme. The second part should explain how you will apply your new skills after your scholarship ends. In the third portion, you will explain what changes you expect in development terms because of your scholarship. In the last and fourth part, you will tell the impact of your work and some personal information.
