Eligibility Criteria for the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships 2024-25:


  • Applicants applying must be permanent citizens of a commonwealth country and be British-protected persons.
  • Applicants with refugee status in any above-eligible Commonwealth country can apply for this.
  • Before starting the scholarship (September 2024), applicants must be registered for PhD in any university in the commonwealth country.
  • They must ensure that their host university has a link with the proposed UK university.
  • Furthermore, they should be able to start their studies in September 2024 in the UK.

  • Applicants should be unable to afford their studies in the UK without Commonwealth Split-Site Scholarships 2024-25.

Requirements for Commonwealth Scholarships:


  • Copy of Passport or NID with a complete picture and personal details
  • Supporting statement of the supervisor from UK’s university
  • Statement of the supervisor from your home country
  • Educational Transcripts
  • Proof of citizenship or refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • At least two reference letters from institutes.
  • Supporting statements from the current and proposed supervisor of their home university and UK university, respectively, on institutional letterhead.
  • All the undergraduate and postgraduate university qualifications certificates.
  • Enlist up to 10 research publications, prizes and awards.
  • Details of past employment and how it relates to your undertaken program in the UK.
  • Statement of the relation between your previous work experience and proposed scholarship.
  • Three references with their name and ranks. One of them must be a current employer.
  • A development impact statement. Provide a Development Impact statement with four different parts. The first part will explain the national, local or global development issues and relate them to your CSC theme. The second part should explain how you will apply your new skills after your scholarship ends. In the third portion, you will explain what changes you expect in development terms because of your scholarship. In the last and fourth part, you will tell the impact of your work and some personal information.
