Eligibility Criteria for ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship 2024:
- To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must not possess Chinese citizenship.
- Candidates must be citizens of eligible developing countries in the Southern hemisphere, as defined by TWAS.
- For applicants to the PhD program, they must be born on or after 1 January 1989. Hence the age limit for UNESCO-TWAS Scholarship is 35 years.
- Moreover, proficiency in either English or Chinese is a prerequisite for eligible applicants.
- Candidates must also meet the admission criteria set for international students at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) or the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS).
- Applicants should not undertake additional assignments or commitments during the tenure of the ANSO-TWAS scholarship.
- In addition, applicants cannot apply for the ANSO Scholarship alongside both USTC and UCAS. Doing so will result in ineligibility.
- Individuals currently pursuing a doctoral degree at any university or institution in China are ineligible for the PhD program under the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO Scholarship.
- As an additional requirement, all recipients of the TWAS Scholarship 2024 must successfully undergo comprehensive training in the Chinese language, Chinese culture, and fulfill all mandatory credit requirements.
Benefits of ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship in 2024:
- The scholarship includes coverage of tuition fees, ensuring scholars can focus on their research and academic pursuits without financial constraints.
- Applicants receive a monthly stipend of either 6,000 or 7,000 CNY, depending on the awardee’s performance in the qualification test organized by the University. This stipend is provided for a duration of up to 48 months.
